Test purpose The flexible cord anchorage of the appliance shall relieve conductors at the terminals from pulling force and torque. This device is used to test the ability of the cord anchorage or cable fixing device of EV AC/DC charging stations to withstand specified tensile force and torque.
Test Principle The pulling force is realized by using a motor to drive an eccentric wheel mechanism. The motor speed is adjustable to ensure that the pulling force is applied accurately each time. It is equipped with a monitoring function for the pulling force duration. Torque is applied by a motor-driven tray that lifts a weight; When the time is reached, the tray automatically resets the lifting weight and ends the application of torque.
Structure and characteristics The equipment adopts PLC control and motor drive. The weights apply stable pulling force, and torque is generated through the combination of weights and a torque arm. The system allows setting the number of pulling force applications and the torque test duration. Once the preset number of cycles or duration is reached, the equipment stops automatically. After the test, the maximum allowable displacement of the EV charging connector cable must not exceed the specified limit in the standard. This equipment is compatible with charging station samples fitted with charging guns of different cable lengths.
